Toyota Stadium sits at the heart of a sports-and-suburban-amenity cluster in Frisco that the city has spent two decades building out — the Cowboys' Star headquarters and Ford Center are a short ride west, Comerica Center (the Stars' practice facility) sits in the same complex, and the PGA of America's national headquarters is a few miles north. The stadium grounds also include the National Soccer Hall of Fame, which sits inside the stadium's south end. The immediate neighborhood is suburban Frisco — newer mixed-use developments, chain restaurants along Preston Road and the Tollway, and the Frisco Rough Riders' Riders Field (Triple-A baseball) a short ride east. Travelers can pair an FC Dallas match with The Star, the Soccer Hall, or a meal in nearby Plano or McKinney's downtown squares.

Plan to arrive 60–90 minutes before kickoff — Frisco's Tollway corridor traffic plus surface-lot parking flow can stack up on Texas Derby nights. The stadium's intimate, soccer-specific bowl puts every seat close to the action; the supporters' section (Beer Mug Boys / Inferno) at the south end drives the matchday atmosphere. The stadium roof covers most seats and adds shade, but the bowl is open-sided and Texas summer heat is real — hydrate aggressively for July and August matches. The National Soccer Hall of Fame inside the south stand is open on matchdays and most non-matchdays and is a strong first-time add-on for soccer travelers. Toyota Stadium opened in August 2005 as Pizza Hut Park, was rebranded FC Dallas Stadium in 2012, and became Toyota Stadium in 2013 under a naming-rights deal with Toyota Motor North America (whose U.S. headquarters sits in nearby Plano). It was one of the first wave of soccer-specific stadiums built for MLS and the first to incorporate a major football venue tenant — the stadium has hosted the FCS national championship game annually for over a decade. The National Soccer Hall of Fame, after years without a permanent home, relocated to a purpose-built facility inside the stadium's south end in 2018. The bowl's covered seating and end-stand canopy were a Texas-summer design driver. FC Dallas has been the primary tenant since opening, and the club's youth academy and training facility sits on the same campus — one of the more integrated club setups in MLS.
