Exhibition Place is a 192-acre fairgrounds and convention site on the Lake Ontario waterfront — the stadium sits within the CNE grounds along with the Coca-Cola Coliseum (the AHL Marlies' home), Enercare Centre, and the historic Princes' Gates. The blocks immediately east of the stadium include Liberty Village — Toronto's converted-warehouse loft-and-restaurant neighborhood — which is the closest walkable pre-match district. King West and the Entertainment District a longer walk east are downtown Toronto's denser pre-match neighborhoods with a wide slate of restaurants and bars. The CNE itself (Canadian National Exhibition) runs each August through Labour Day and adds a fair-and-festival overlay to the stadium grounds. Travelers building a wider day can pair the visit with a Liberty Village afternoon, a King West dinner, a Harbourfront walk, or a CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium swing for visitors with a longer Toronto window.

Plan to arrive at least an hour before kickoff — the GO and TTC platforms surge before matches, security screening can stack up on rivalry nights, and the Gardiner Expressway inbound traffic backs up before Argonauts CFL games and high-demand Toronto FC matches. Toronto FC's supporters' groups (Inebriatti, Red Patch Boys, U-Sector) anchor the supporter section in the south end, which is the loudest part of the stadium. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the biggest event in the building's history — Toronto is hosting multiple matches at BMO Field and the stadium has been expanded for the tournament. BMO Field opened in April 2007 under a 10-year naming-rights deal with Bank of Montreal (BMO), extended through subsequent agreements. It was the first soccer-specific stadium built in Canada and was the inaugural home of Toronto FC, MLS's first Canadian franchise. The stadium was expanded ahead of the 2016 CFL season to bring back the Toronto Argonauts (who had played at Rogers Centre for decades) and again to accommodate the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosting role, which significantly expanded the seating bowl and modernized the broadcast and player facilities.
