BayCare Ballpark

BayCare Ballpark sits on the eastern edge of Clearwater inside the Phillies' Carpenter Complex — the multi-field player-development campus that has been the Phillies' Florida home since 1947. The blocks immediately around the ballpark are surface lots, the Phillies' minor-league back fields, and a mix of suburban Clearwater commercial parcels along US-19; there is no walkable pre-game village at the stadium itself. Downtown Clearwater — Cleveland Street's restaurants, the Capitol Theatre, and the waterfront — sits about ten minutes west and is the closest walkable district. Clearwater Beach, with its Gulf-front hotels and the Pier 60 sunset celebration, is roughly 15-20 minutes west across the Memorial Causeway and is where most visiting fans actually stay. Tampa's Ybor City and downtown St. Petersburg are both well under an hour away for a bigger dinner night.

Plan to arrive 60-90 minutes before first pitch for Phillies spring-training games — March crowds at Carpenter Complex skew heavily Phillies-loyal and the parking-lot tailgate scene fills early. For Clearwater Threshers Florida State League games during the regular summer season, parking flow is much gentler and a 45-minute arrival is plenty. The ballpark was renamed BayCare Ballpark in 2020 under a naming-rights agreement with BayCare Health System; it was Bright House Field at opening in 2004 and then Spectrum Field after the Bright House / Charter rebrand. The Phillies have trained in Clearwater every spring since 1947, the longest unbroken city tenure in MLB spring training. Mobile-only tickets are the norm. Bag policy, gate-open times, and clear-bag rules shift season to season; confirm on the team site before going.

BayCare Ballpark opened in 2004 as Bright House Networks Field, became Spectrum Field after the Charter / Spectrum rebrand, and was renamed BayCare Ballpark in 2020 under a naming-rights deal with BayCare Health System (the Tampa Bay regional Catholic health network). The Carpenter Complex adjacent to the ballpark is the Phillies' multi-field player-development campus, named for the Carpenter family that owned the franchise from 1943 to 1981. Capacity sits around 8,500 with berm seating in left and a 360-degree concourse. The Threshers shifted from the High-A South Atlantic League to the Single-A Florida State League under MLB's 2021 minor-league reorganization.
